Description
Propolis is a natural resinous substance collected by bees from tree buds and stems. Bees use it to sterilize their hives and protect them from various microbes. It is known for its strong antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties, making it a highly effective natural compound for supporting overall health.
Why Do Bees Collect Propolis?
Bees use propolis to disinfect the hive and eliminate microbial threats. It also plays a crucial role in dealing with large insects or small animals that enter the hive—since bees are unable to remove these intruders physically, they mummify them using propolis to prevent decomposition and contamination. Additionally, bees use propolis to seal excess air vents in the hive, helping to regulate internal temperature.
Medically Proven Benefits of Propolis

How to Use
Preventive Use (For Immune Support):
-
Children aged 2 to 5 years: 4 drops once daily with juice or water
-
Children aged 5 to 10 years: 7 drops once daily with juice or water
-
Adults aged 10 years and above: 10 drops once daily with juice or water
Note: When using propolis for immune support, it is recommended to take it for only two weeks per month. This helps prevent the body from developing tolerance, which may reduce its effectiveness over time.
Therapeutic Use (For Various Health Conditions):
-
Children aged 2 to 5 years: 8 drops two to three times daily with juice or water
-
Children aged 5 to 10 years: 14 drops two to three times daily with juice or water
-
Adults aged 10 years and above: 20 drops two to three times daily with juice or water
Warnings and Contraindications
Do not use in the following cases:
-
Pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless advised by a doctor
-
Individuals allergic to bee products
-
Children under the age of one, unless medically approved
Important Notes
Propolis naturally has a bitter taste. The more bitter it is, the higher its quality and effectiveness.
It can be consumed undiluted for those who can tolerate its strong flavor, which may enhance its benefits.
Shake the bottle well before each use to ensure proper distribution of the ingredients.
Our types
| Product | Form | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Concentrated local liquid propolis | 15 ml dropper bottle, extracted in propylene glycol (alcohol-free) | Drops in water or with honey, or on the mouth |
| Raw propolis | 10 g pieces | Chew a small piece, adults only |
Our propolis comes from our apiaries in the forested areas of Jordan.
How to use it and how much
The first time, put one drop on the back of your hand and wait 24 hours. If there is no redness or itching, add the drops to a glass of water or a spoon of honey, using the amounts below:
| Age | Amount of liquid propolis |
|---|---|
| Under 1 year | Not to be given |
| 1 to 5 years | 1 to 3 drops, twice a day |
| 5 to 10 years | 7 drops, twice a day |
| Over 10 years and adults | 10 drops, 2 to 3 times a day |
- Raw propolis: chew a small piece about the size of a lentil. It sticks to the teeth a little, which is normal.
- Propolis has a strong, slightly bitter taste and may cause a light numb feeling in the mouth.
How to store it
In a cool, dry place away from sunlight, with the bottle tightly closed. Raw propolis hardens in the cold and softens in the heat; this does not affect its quality.
Good to know
- Allergy: propolis can cause skin allergy in some people, more often in people with asthma, eczema or an allergy to bee products or to balsam of Peru, so try a small amount first.
- Blood thinners such as warfarin: ask your doctor first. A study in mice found that propolis changed the effect of warfarin.
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding: there are not enough studies, so ask your doctor.
- Raw propolis is for adults only.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between liquid and raw propolis?
Liquid is easier to use and you control the amount by the drop. Raw propolis is propolis in its natural form, not extracted, and you chew it.
Why does the colour change from batch to batch?
It depends on the trees the bees collected from in each season and region.
Can I take it with honey?
Yes, many people add the liquid propolis drops to a spoon of honey. See the Super Immunity Pack, which has propolis, honey and bee pollen.
